Music speaks to me, primarily as a performer. I feel it requires a certain kind of sensibility and a certain kind of performer to do it. And I see myself that way. The experience of seeing a show is, for me, an emotional one about watching the commitment of an individual performer using deep, dark emotional pain to achieve a positive end — creating an entertaining piece of theatre while healing themself.
To that end, here's a few of the things that I've done in pursuit of that goal.
I don't advocate favoritism or entitlement, but I do insist on fair, equitable opportunities for anyone willing to dedicate themselves to achieving their goals. Ethnicity, gender, or any label should never be barriers erected against any person pursuing their purpose in life.
I'd like to share with you a few of the things near to my heart, and toward which I've applied the full force of my energies... because they're the right thing to do.
BD's professional story begins with a teacher who inspired him and changed his life. From his days of "putting up pipes and hanging a canvas drop" until now, he has never lost his love of the theater. Find out why here. -CR Paige
